Vaidehi & Sanath
by Prasad jindam
Colours, Rituals,People. A Tamil Brahmin Wedding is all about this and more.
And the challenge for me was that there were too many candid shots that I had to parallel process at the same time simply becoz of the fact that everything about tambrahm weddings are simply beautiful.
However, through Simplicity comes great beauty...and our couple Vaidehi and Sanath stood true to those words. All decked up in their Brahmin style attire, their wedding began with the traditional ‘Mapillai Azapu’ (literally translated as “ "welcoming the groom) followed by the 'Kasi Yatra' and the very fun 'Maalai Maatral' (exchange of garlands between the bride and the groom) that ended up right outside the temple courtyard.
Though drained after an elaborate wedding ceremony, the couple was all up for some fun couple shoot near the Bangur Nagar temple (Mumbai) premises. So content was I after this shoot, the very same content of thulping one Tambrahm Wedding Ela Saapadu in all its glory. The wedding was followed by a very quirky and rustic themed Reception party at The Village (Mumbai).
Thank you Vaidehi and Sanath for letting me be a part of your wedding day. A special thanks to Sanath's uncle, Mr. Venugopal Chandrashekhar (a senior colleague from my ex-advertising agency) for introducing me to this lovely couple. Love, Like & Share!
